Схема независимых посещений полицейских участков Глостершира получила высшую награду Platinum

Gloucestershire's independent custody visiting scheme has been ranked among the best in the country. The scheme, managed by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, received the 'Platinum' award from the Independent Custody Visiting Association (ICVA). This is the highest honour an Independent Custody Visiting (ICV) scheme can achieve, indicating top performance in areas such as recruitment, training, volunteer management, and detainee welfare. Gloucestershire's 16 independent custody visitors, who conduct unannounced visits to the police custody suite at HQ, played a crucial role in securing the award. They submit reports after each visit, helping to ensure accountability and transparency in police custody operations. The volunteers are managed by Annie White, the Volunteer and Scrutiny Officer. She praised the team for their dedication and professionalism, stating, "They have dedicated huge amounts of time, some of them decades, to this important work, and I would like to thank them all." The scheme is a vital part of ensuring community voice and police accountability.
