AHS Heated Driveways Named Among the GTA's Leading Snow-Melt Installers for 2026 Richmond Hill, ONTARIO, Aug. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AHS Heated Driveways, the driveway heating division of Toronto landscaping and exterior construction firm Action Home Services, has been recognized among the top heated driveway installers serving the Greater Toronto Area. The recognition arrives as GTA homeowners book snow-melt installations ahead of fall and winter, the window in which design, excavation, and surface finishing can be completed before the first freeze. Heated Driveways A Landscaping Firm's Approach to Driveway Heating Action Home Services built its reputation transforming GTA backyards into finished outdoor living spaces, and AHS Heated Driveways applies the same design-and-build standard to snow-melt work. The division has installed both electric and glycol-heated driveway systems for years, refining installation practice across a wide range of driveway surfaces, slopes, and property layouts. Electric systems use heating cables or mats set directly beneath the surface and are the simplest option to retrofit into an existing asphalt, concrete, or interlock driveway. Hydronic glycol systems circulate a heated fluid through tubing below the surface and are generally the stronger fit for larger driveways, where lower operating costs offset the higher install. All-In-One Installation, In-House Crews AHS handles the complete package: excavation, system installation, and the final surface finish, all carried out by in-house crews rather than subcontracted trades. Homeowners receive a free on-site measurement and in-house estimate before work begins, and every installation is backed by a 10-year labour warranty. Why Homeowners Are Making the Switch A heated driveway melts snow and ice automatically, eliminating shovelling and the need for de-icing salt. That second point carries more weight than most homeowners expect. Salt is what corrodes vehicles and breaks down interlock, concrete, and stamped finishes over repeated freeze-thaw cycles, so removing it protects both the driveway and the surrounding hardscaping. The other draws are winter safety on sloped driveways and entryways, the end of annual snow-clearing contracts, and the resale value of a driveway that clears itself. "The heating system is only half the project," AHS notes. "The base preparation, the drainage, and the surface above it all have to be built to the same standard, or the driveway fails long before the cables do. That's why we keep the entire build in-house, from excavation to the final finish." Timing the Installation Late summer and early fall remain the ideal booking window. Homeowners already planning a new driveway or a full replacement see the strongest value, since installing the heating system during that work costs considerably less than retrofitting it later.
