Онлайн-школа OEd в Филиппинах запускает обновленную программу старшей школы с акцентом на карьеру и гибкий график

AS Philippine senior high school education enters a new phase, Online Education (OEd) is positioning flexible online learning alongside a curriculum increasingly focused on practical skills, career pathways and preparation for college and employment. The way Filipino students prepare for college and the workplace is changing — and OEd is moving its Senior High School program with it. Beginning School Year 2026–2027, OEd is offering the newly aligned Strengthened Senior High School (SSHS) Curriculum, reflecting the framework under DepEd Order No. 17, s. 2026 and the new Three-Term School Calendar under DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2026. For OEd, the shift represents more than a curriculum update. It provides an opportunity to combine a more streamlined and career-oriented Senior High School program with the flexibility of online education. One of the most visible changes is the move to a three-term academic structure, with 215 class days spread across the school year. Core subjects have also been allocated 180 instructional hours, distributed at 60 hours per term. The additional instructional time provides a buffer for possible class disruptions while helping ensure students complete the required learning competencies. The revised structure also puts greater emphasis on electives and practical learning. Academic Track students will take an elective in Grade 11, while Tech-Pro students will receive substantially more time for hands-on learning. Work Immersion remains a significant component. The revised curriculum also expands the conversation around what students can pursue after Senior High School. Among the updated areas represented in OEd's aligned programs are Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics; Business and Entrepreneurship; ICT Support and Computer Programming Technologies; Creative Arts and Design Technology; Hospitality and Tourism; Sports, Health and Wellness; and Arts, Social Science and Humanities. These pathways can help students begin connecting their Senior High School education with the professions and industries they may eventually enter — from engineering, nursing and technology to entrepreneurship, hospitality, tourism, creative industries and sports. OEd's proposition is particularly relevant because the curriculum transition comes at a time when education itself is becoming less confined by the traditional classroom. Through OEd's online learning model, Senior High School students can pursue the strengthened curriculum while benefiting from greater flexibility in where and how they study. That can be particularly valuable for students balancing education with work, family responsibilities, personal pursuits or circumstances that make conventional daily classroom attendance difficult. OEd's approach brings together two increasingly important priorities in Philippine education: stronger preparation for life after Senior High School and greater accessibility in how that education is delivered. Under its campaign message, "New SHS. New Future.", OEd is presenting the curriculum transition not merely as a change in subjects or schedules, but as an opportunity for students to rethink how Senior High School can prepare them for the future. In an economy where technology, industries and the skills demanded by employers continue to evolve, education must be capable of evolving with them. The future of Senior High School may therefore be measured not simply by how much students learn, but by how well that learning prepares them for what comes after graduation. By combining the Strengthened SHS Curriculum with flexible online education, OEd is betting that students should not have to choose between an education that fits their lives and one that prepares them for their future.
