A Place to Kill анонсировали новый EP с упором на тяжелый EDM и минималистичные концерты

A Place to Kill Announces EDM-Focused EPs and Minimalist Live Plans Patrick explained that the upcoming material will be “more focused on heavy EDM.” He compared the direction to artists such as Scarlxrd and Deadmau5, noting that the live setup will involve only the two of them and will not feature dancers or elaborate stage production. “I could see us on festivals, for sure,” Patrick told the station, hinting at a future where the duo’s minimalism becomes a point of intrigue. The duo also discussed touring prospects. Patrick said that A Place to Kill might open for Filter in the next couple of years. He added that the band is considering a festival run, but that a full live schedule is still a few years away. Release strategy According to the interview, the duo plans to release its first EP in full at once, while the second EP will be issued as a series of singles over several months. Patrick said the first EP will be available on vinyl and CD, with the vinyl side A containing the first EP and side B the second EP. The CD will compile both EPs. The duo’s release plan reflects a broader industry trend toward staggered single releases that keep audiences engaged. Patrick said the first EP was released in its entirety so listeners could hear the complete work before hearing additional singles. “I just wanted to hear something immediately. Like, I like this single. What’s the rest of the record like?” he said. Video content Patrick also highlighted the importance of visual media for the upcoming EP. The duo will produce music videos for each single from the second EP, aiming to give fans content to view on platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. Current status The duo has not yet announced a specific release date for the second EP. Patrick said the project is “in a couple of months,” but no exact date has been named. Background Richard Patrick, born May 10 1968, is best known as the lead vocalist of Filter, a band formed in 1993 that has released seven studio albums, including the 2023 album The Algorithm. Patrick has also been involved in supergroups such as The Damning Well. Jim Lou Vau is a photographer and music‑video director who has worked on projects such as Fame Whore and The Proposal. He joined forces with Patrick to create A Place to Kill, an industrial‑driven act that blends heavy guitar work with EDM‑style production. Industry context A Place to Kill’s emphasis on EDM‑influenced industrial music aligns with a growing segment of artists who merge hard‑rock instrumentation with electronic beats. The duo’s plan to release singles and accompanying videos is consistent with current streaming‑platform strategies that prioritize frequent, bite‑size content. The project’s potential to open for Filter or perform at festivals could broaden its audience, but Patrick emphasized that live shows are still a few years away. Conclusion A Place to Kill is preparing a second EP that will feature heavy EDM elements and a minimalist live format. The duo will release the first EP in full and the second EP as a series of singles, with accompanying music videos. No release date has been announced, but the project is expected to be available in the coming months. The duo’s approach reflects modern distribution tactics and a willingness to blend genres, positioning A Place to Kill as a noteworthy addition to the industrial‑EDM landscape.
