Американские авиалинии опровергли информацию о столкновении с птицей при взлете в Ла-Гардии

QUEENS, New York (WABC) -- American Airlines says a reported bird strike that led to a flight aborting takeoff at LaGuardia Airport Thursday morning was a false alarm. The plane was still on the ground and was traveling nearly 140 mph when the pilots rejected the takeoff at 8:20 a.m. The Federal Aviation Administration said American Airlines Flight 392, a Boeing 737-800, was headed to Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The FAA briefly issued a ground stop at LGA following the apparent bird strike, which was later deemed a false alarm, according to American Airlines. They said there was no evidence of a bird strike. The plane was checked out, cleared and is back in the air. ---------- * Get Eyewitness News Delivered * Download our connected TV app * More local news * Send us a news tip * Download the abc7NY app for breaking news alerts on the go
