Исторический дом семьи владельцев Coca-Cola в Амарилло выставлен на аукцион

Historic Amarillo Home With Coca-Cola Connection Up for Auction Amarillo is full of amazing neighborhoods, old and new, and hidden within the old neighborhoods are homes that have been around since the early days. Many of those homes are tucked away on Julian Blvd, and one of those houses is now up for auction. The Wingate Family and Amarillo's Coca-Cola Legacy This home hasn't been named a historic home, but it does have a lot of history. The home we are talking about is located at 1704 S. Julian Blvd. This home was owned by Thomas R. Wingate. Thomas R. Wingate is the son of R.B. "Dick" Wingate, who purchased the Coca-Cola Bottling Company from Thomas M. Nabers here in Amarillo in 1927. According to a clip from the Amarillo Sunday News and Globe, when R.B. Wingate died unexpectedly in 1933, his son Thomas R. Wingate was just 17 years old. By 1938, Thomas was managing the family's Coca-Cola operation on behalf of his mother and siblings. Who Lived at 1704 S. Julian Blvd? We know Thomas Wingate and his family were living in the home at 1704 S. Julian Blvd because a mention of Mrs. Thomas Wingate of 1704 Julian Blvd. appears in the October 13, 1938, edition of the Amarillo Globe. The home was later owned by Thomas Wingate's son, Thomas R. Wingate Jr., who owned Amarillo Imports and loved antique automobiles. According to PRAD.org, the home was owned by Thomas R. Wingate Jr., who passed away in September 2025. From Family Home to Auction Block However, the home is now up for auction. Assiter Real Estate has the home listed in an online auction that ends Tuesday, September 1. What's Inside the Home The home has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a basement, and a detached 2-car garage. The total square footage of the home is 2,169. The home is being sold as is, and it is definitely a fixer-upper, perfect for a house flipper. Inside the Historic Wingate Home Up for Auction at 1704 S.
