The opportunity now is to give students early access to the platforms and tools that power real-world AI development," said Jaya Jagadish, country head & SVP engineering, AMD India. NEW DELHI: Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) on Thursday entered into a strategic collaboration with the University of Delhi to equip 10,000 students over the next year with AI-relevant skills. Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), AMD will bring its “AI Engage Developer Program” to Delhi University, providing students and faculty with hands-on access to AMD's open-source ROCm AI software platform, learning resources, and developer GPU cloud credits. "India has the talent and the ambition to lead the next wave of AI innovation. The opportunity now is to give students early access to the platforms and tools that power real-world AI development," said Jaya Jagadish, country head & SVP engineering, AMD India. Through AMD’s collaboration with the University of Delhi, the semiconductor company is helping students move from learning AI concepts to building AI solutions, she added. Through the collaboration, students and faculty will gain access to AMD's AI learning curriculum, technical workshops, open software ecosystems, and cloud-based GPU resources for hands-on experimentation. The program is designed to encourage innovation, research and developer readiness while supporting India's broader vision of building indigenous AI capabilities. Yogesh Singh, vice-chancellor, Delhi University, said, "We are proud to partner with AMD in advancing AI education and innovation in India. This collaboration reflects a growing industry focus on preparing graduates with practical AI skills that extend beyond classroom learning.” The collaboration builds on AMD's ongoing investments in India's technology ecosystem through academia, developer enablement, and open AI innovation.
