Свами Анируддьячарья: как молитва в храме Банке Бихари открыла ему двери в Вриндаван

Swami Aniruddhacharya Maharaj’s journey to Vrindavan did not begin with money, connections or a place to stay. It began with a stubborn wish to study Bhagwat and a faith that, years later, he would describe as his first miracle. In a post shared from his own Facebook account, Swami Aniruddhacharya Maharaj recalled how he had wanted to leave his village and come to Vrindavan to study spiritual texts. He had studied only until Class 10 in his village before giving up formal education. But his desire to learn Bhagwat remained. His father repeatedly questioned how he would survive in Vrindavan. Where would he stay? What would he eat? Who would help him? For nearly a year, the young Aniruddhacharya waited. During that time, he began looking after cows in the village. His father eventually managed to save enough money, and on July 17, he was finally sent to Vrindavan. But when he reached the ashram where he hoped to study, the manager refused to admit him. There was no place, he was told For someone arriving with no money and no influential connections, there was little he could do. His father suggested that they simply return home. But before leaving Vrindavan, they decided to visit the Banke Bihari Temple. It was his first darshan there, and what happened next would become one of the most deeply personal memories of his life. “Aap Bhagwan hain. Itne bade hain aap. Aapka Vrindavan itna bada hai, jahan sab log chappal-joota utaarte hain. Main wahan reh lunga, par aap apne se door na karo mujhe. Mujhe yahi rehna hai.” Standing before Banke Bihari, he prayed in his own simple words. He told the deity that Vrindavan was enormous, that people came there leaving their shoes outside, and that he did not want anything grand. He simply wanted to stay there and learn. His only plea, he recalled, was that Bihari Ji should not send him away. Then, as he and his father were preparing to leave, something unexpected happened. The ashram manager called him back “Achha, aao,” he was told. The same person who had refused him earlier had now agreed to let him stay. For Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, the timing was impossible to dismiss. He was eventually able to remain in Vrindavan, study and continue on the spiritual path he had been longing for. Looking back, he has often described the incident as a miracle. But his recollection carries another layer of gratitude too. He continues to remember the manager who gave him that chance, saying that he still respects him and offers him pranam. “If he had sent me away, I would probably have continued looking after cows,” he reflected. That thought gives the story its emotional weight. There was no dramatic plan, no powerful introduction and no guarantee that the young boy from a village would ever find his place in Vrindavan. There was simply a desire to learn, a family that struggled to make the journey possible, a closed door and, finally, a temple visit. What came after that changed the direction of his life For Swami Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, that first darshan of Banke Bihari Ji was therefore more than a visit to a temple. It became, in his telling, the moment when a closed door suddenly opened. Whether one sees it as divine intervention, coincidence or the mysterious turn of destiny, the story remains striking for one reason: sometimes the path we imagine for ourselves begins only after another path appears to have ended. And for the young boy who had travelled to Vrindavan simply because he wanted to study Bhagwat, that unexpected second chance became the beginning of everything that followed.
