Криштиану Роналду: ненависть фанатов — это топливо для достижения вершин

Cristiano Ronaldo 's career has been shaped not only by extraordinary success but also by intense, near-constant public scrutiny. Few footballers have attracted as much admiration, criticism and genuine debate as Ronaldo , and yet he has repeatedly spoken about using that pressure as fuel rather than letting it become a burden. "I don't mind people hating me, because it pushes me," he told The Times, in an interview later reported by beIN Sports and theScore. "When I go to play away, they are always against me, but it's good. You have to see the good things from the haters. I need the enemy. It is part of the business." The quote suggests that criticism never has to become a source of pure discouragement. Handled the right way, it can become another reason to work harder, improve and let your own actions speak for themselves, a lesson he clearly did not arrive at overnight. Quote of the day by Cristiano Ronaldo "I don't mind people hating me, because it pushes me" The real story that gives this quote extra weight In that same interview, Ronaldo revealed something considerably more vulnerable than the confident public image usually associated with him. He described nearly quitting football entirely at the age of 12, overwhelmed by pressure, walking into the club's office to tell the director, "Listen, I can't deal with this any more. I am going to give up. I am going home. I don't want to be here." The director reminded him he was only 12 and had huge potential, and his teammates and parents helped push him to stay, with his mother telling him, "You are just having a bad moment. Be strong." Ronaldo has said he cried that night, and that it took several days before things started to feel better. That early experience makes his later comments about handling hatred and pressure considerably more grounded than a simple motivational slogan. That vulnerable moment reveals how deeply personal Ronaldo's resilience actually is, showing that his ability to thrive under pressure was never innate confidence alone, but something rebuilt deliberately after nearly walking away from the sport entirely as a child. What is the meaning of the quote by Cristiano Ronaldo Ronaldo's words suggest that negative opinion can genuinely become a source of real motivation rather than simply an obstacle. Being criticised or actively disliked can naturally affect someone's confidence. Instead of allowing that reaction to actually stop him, Ronaldo describes using it as something that genuinely pushes him forward. This is not really an argument for deliberately seeking out hatred or criticism. It is about refusing to let other people's opinions decide your own level of effort or ambition. Why criticism can become genuine motivation Criticism can feel genuinely uncomfortable, but it can also reveal exactly how closely people are actually paying attention to what someone does. For an athlete, criticism often arrives after a poor performance or an important defeat. For someone in a completely different profession, it might follow a failed project or an unpopular decision. The actual response to that criticism is really what matters most. One person might become discouraged and simply stop trying. Another might examine the criticism honestly, take whatever is genuinely useful from it, and use the rest as motivation to improve. Ronaldo's quote clearly reflects the second approach. Ronaldo's career has involved constant scrutiny From his early years at Sporting CP and Manchester United through his time at Real Madrid, Juventus and with the Portugal national team, Ronaldo has spent most of his professional life under genuinely intense public attention. His performances get analysed constantly and compared directly with other elite players, and the expectations surrounding him have remained exceptionally high throughout. That environment creates real pressure, where even a single poor performance can generate criticism after an otherwise long run of genuine success. His comments suggest he genuinely learned to treat that pressure as fuel rather than letting it become an obstacle standing in his way. The real difference between criticism and useful feedback Not every negative comment actually deserves attention. Some criticism genuinely identifies a real weakness and offers a real opportunity to improve. Other comments exist purely to provoke a reaction and nothing more. The actual challenge lies in telling the difference between the two. A genuinely productive response involves asking whether there is something useful hiding inside the criticism itself. If there is, it becomes a real lesson. If there genuinely is not, giving it too much attention simply creates an unnecessary distraction. Ronaldo's approach is really about controlling his own response rather than trying to control what everyone else happens to think of him. Why proving yourself can genuinely be powerful Doubt from other people can sometimes strengthen someone's own determination considerably. A person told that a goal is unrealistic may become considerably more determined to actually demonstrate it can be achieved, and that motivation can encourage far greater discipline and persistence over time. Relying entirely on outside approval can still become genuinely problematic though. Long-term motivation tends to be far stronger when it comes from someone's own personal standards, rather than simply a constant desire to prove other people wrong. How to deal with people who genuinely doubt you Doubt and criticism are genuinely unavoidable across most areas of life. A student might be told an ambition is unrealistic. An employee might have a genuinely good idea dismissed outright. Rather than responding immediately, it helps to ask what the criticism actually means underneath the surface. Does it identify something that genuinely needs improving? Is it simply another person's preference? Or is it really just an attempt to discourage you outright? Understanding that difference tends to prevent negative comments from quietly controlling your own decisions. Other famous quotes by Cristiano Ronaldo - "Your love makes me strong, your hate makes me unstoppable." - "Talent without working hard is nothing." - "We don't want to tell our dreams, we want to show them." - "I have never tried to hide the fact that it is my intention to become the best." Why its message remains powerful today Most people encounter genuine criticism at some point, whether at work, in education, in sport or in personal life. The instinctive response is often to take every negative comment personally. Ronaldo's quote offers a genuinely different way of looking at it. Negative attention does not automatically have to become a reason to retreat. It can just as easily become a reason to sharpen your own focus instead. What actually matters is not whether everyone approves of what you are doing. It is whether criticism makes you give up entirely, or pushes you toward becoming considerably more disciplined instead.
