The system, designed to automatically sanction plans for smaller structures within 24 hours without manual oversight, was exploited by applicants to evade fees and lower future property tax liabilities. A scrutiny of 300 online building permissions issued over a two-month window previously led to notices being served to 47 property owners and consultants. The investigation exposed widespread irregularities, including applicants under-reporting actual construction areas to bypass correct fee rates and falsifying records to claim built-up plots as vacant land. Additionally, unauthorized joint constructions were executed by illegally amalgamating separate plots. In response to these systemic vulnerabilities, IMC has initiated a review of all permits issued through the digital platform to recover outstanding financial dues and enforce regulations. The penalized professionals are Bharat Panchal, Rahul Sharma, Yogesh Jain, Devendra Patel, and Ashutosh Sankhla. They are now officially barred from practicing within the municipal jurisdiction.
