Отель 11 Cadogan Gardens в Челси: викторианская вилла с садом и доступом к паркам

11 Cadogan Gardens, London Photos Amenities Rooms In a nutshell A covert and comfortable bolthole with garden access. The rooms My superior queen room was like the studio flat I never had (sans kitchen, although the ample walk-in closet could have become such a thing were I to move in, which I did imagine). Comfortable sofa as footboard for a plush queen bed, antique prints from 19th-century women's magazines framed and lining the walls, heavy white drapes constantly drawn during my stay on account of the heatwave. The bathroom had both a shower and a clawfoot tub and was glamorously bedecked in brown marble. The room itself stands between the petite double rooms and deluxe king rooms in terms of size, with a bevy of suite options including Mews suites with private, direct access to Pavilion Road. Food and drink By way of all-day dining, there's Hans' Bar & Grill, where guests can breakfast (the green shakshuka is exceptional), lunch, and dinner. It's downstairs from the main lobby but lets out directly onto Pavilion, meaning there's plenty of light. The cuisine is classic overall, with something for everybody, and on Sundays they serve a roast – be sure to dine early if that's what you're after, as they do sell out. Right off the entrance to the hotel is The Chelsea Bar, a quintessential hotel cocktail bar with a long spirits menu and immaculate martinis. And afternoon tea is served daily in a happy room behind check-in, with 12 tea options and a tower of tea sandwiches and cakes. A vegan, gluten-free option costs the same as the classic offering: £55 per guest. Highlights and experiences Guests seeking to enjoy the garden access, or one of the larger parks within walking distance (Hyde Park is around a 15 minutes' stroll north) can request a Laurent Perrier picnic backpack replete with sandwiches, scones, dips, and spreads as well as a blanket and pillows. There's a small gym downstairs if you need a workout. What to do nearby The Chelsea location provides easy access to Sloane Square, from which you're a quick tube away from most all of London. But exploring on foot leaves you with myriad options just beyond the quiet, residential street that houses the hotel. There's the aforementioned Hyde Park, which gives way into Kensington Gardens; the Saatchi Gallery with its contemporary exhibitions contained within the Duke of York's 19th-century headquarters; a stroll along the Thames or over Chelsea Bridge into Battersea – the list goes on. Spend some time with the concierge, who are attentive and knowledgable, and they'll whip up the right itinerary for you if you're unsure. The backstory The structures that make up 11 Cadogan Gardens were built in the 19th century by Lord Chelsea himself as part of the sprawl of his Cadogan Estate. Four Victorian homes were combined – thus explaining the many twisting hallways – to make the property, which operated as a private members' club until its transformation into a hotel in 2012. 11 Cadogan Gardens became part of Relais & Chateaux in 2019. Insider tip Ask to see the Mirror Room, which is used for private events. It is what is sounds like and is so, so beautiful. Best for: discrete sophisticates in need of a quietly central location Location: in one of many red-brick terraced townhouses lining a quiet garden lane in the northeast of Chelsea Can’t miss: a stroll down the adjacent, pedestrianised Pavilion Road for a spot of shopping
