Банк RBC выделил 100 тысяч долларов на развитие компьютерных программ в сельских районах Юго-Восточного колледжа

Southeast College has announced new funding coming from RBC to support rural computer training growth for the southeast. New funding for a computer program $100,000 is heading to the Computer Science Training Through Projects (CSTTP) program courtesy of RBC, supporting instructor costs and program administration. Southeast College is thrilled to have the funding, as Tania Hlohovsky Andrist, Executive Director of Innovation and Applied Research, says it'll give them an edge in keeping the southeast at the forefront of tech innovations. “The support from RBC helps us continue building technology talent right here in rural Saskatchewan. CSTTP provides learners with meaningful, workplace-relevant experience while helping them develop the technical and professional skills needed to succeed in today’s digital economy. This investment ensures that more students will have access to innovative training opportunities close to home.” The funding will be celebrated at the Weyburn campus' upcoming “Innovation Conversation” on August 24, which will also recognize the graduates from the Summer 2026 CSTTP cohort. Learners work in professional roles while collaborating on real-world projects to gain practical experience in teamwork, problem-solving, and software development. "In rural and Indigenous communities across Saskatchewan, the talent and drive to succeed in the digital economy are there, but access to the right training and opportunities hasn't always kept pace, said Daniel Edwards, RBC Regional Vice President, Parkland. Southeast College's CSTTP program aims to change that by  delivering hands-on, project-based technology training that intentionally reaches learners who experience challenges accessing traditional education pathways." The next CSTTP cohort will begin on September 29, 2026, at Southeast College's Estevan Campus and will run through March 31, 2027.
